The 6-year-old Rusk is a classy fellow. Big for a dachshund, he has a personality that wins respect, and he wants the humans in his life to be worthy of his. He's not a silly fluff-ball, like some people want his kind to be. He's neither skittish nor yappy. Rusk is an intelligent dog that, when unsure of what you want him to do, will look you directly in the eye as if to ask, "Tell me, just what did you have in mind?" There's nothing haughty about him, though. He's willing to please and is really most charming. If he's feeling unnoticed, he'll even tap you with his front paws as if to say, "Wake up, my dear. Your prince is here."
