People should visit the viewing floor of the Bunkyo Ward Office. Everyone who comes to Japan should see Tokyo from high up, because it’s surprising how large it is.
Getting on the Yamanote Line at Shinjuku at 7:27 a.m. is an experience. It’s also a good metaphor for Tokyo life. It makes me appreciate the quieter moments.

The Earth Festival on Sado Island has a great atmosphere, and the “taiko” troupe is amazing. The drums’ sound is incredible and resonates in your chest.

People should have a day out at the races. They are huge events, with about 100,000 people. It’s also a nice family outing as there are activities for kids.
In the spring vacation I went to Yakushima. It’s a beautiful small island. It has so much rain that the forests are very dense, and there is moss everywhere.

Visit a Don Quijote store on Friday at 10 p.m. The ultimate experience, though, would be an outside onsen at sundown in spring, in front of Mount Fuji, with a glass of sake.
