As with many trends, Japan has come to it very late but is now making great efforts to "catch up." Also, universal design is big business so firms are rushing to get on board.

I saw a TV program on China's hosting of the Paralympics, and I noticed that there are more facilities in Japan for the disabled. We still need to do more, of course.

There are a lot of parking spaces for disabled people here, but many people park in the spaces even if they are not disabled and even though they know it's not right.
