I don't think it's a problem if it's at a lower level. At the highest echelons it might cause a problem. Where they're from and the current political situation should be considered. Upper management should be more security checks.

Japan is very slow to open up these things but it's in their interests to do so. The declining birthrate means Japan will wither without immigration, so Japan needs to allow more freedom for foreigners.

I think it's a good thing to accept foreigners in positions of responsibility. She was just trying to become a manager, not prime minister. I felt sad when I heard what happened. She probably worked harder than the Japanese.

Permanent residents should have a voice, but most people here for 5 years with international companies don't interact much with Japan. If they don't know what's happening then they don't need a voice.

It depends on the nature of what files and security information that foreigners would have access to. Personally, I have no problems with it as long as it doesn't lead to a compromise of Japan's national security.

I would believe so. In Japan even though people have been born here they aren't given citizenship, so if people are born here and working here all their life they should get positions of responsibility.
