The Akita Northern Happinets are off to a 4-0 start this season, completing their second straight series sweep on Sunday by routing the expansion Aomori Wat's 74-51.
Shigehiro Taguchi canned four 3-pointers in a 17-point afternoon and Richard Roby had 14 points for the Northern Happinets in Yuri Honjo, Akita Prefecture. Chas McFarland and Yuto Otsuka each contributed 14 points in the win.
McFarland, a Wake Forest product like NBA star Tim Duncan, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked four shots, bringing his season total to 13 rejections. Ruben Boykin added seven points, 11 boards and seven assists for coach Kazuo Nakamura's club.
