Regarding Kevin Rafferty's Feb. 11 article, "Facebook moves from the virtual world to the real one": Good article. While Facebook has done some good, such as participating in the Arab Spring and the like, for others it is an addiction whose social value is questionable.
Personally I wouldn't care if it didn't exist, but I use it as a tool to stay in touch with those whom I might otherwise never talk to or see again. In other words, it is a 21st-century Rolodex for me. Would I be considered a "user"? At present, I would say no or, at best, a reluctant yes. I fear what Facebook may mean in the future because of its hold over so many people and its reputation for data mining.
