Time to send U.S. forces packing

Hilo, Hawaii

Regarding the Feb. 14 front-page Kyodo article “Okinawa marines not Iwakuni-bound“: Get the U.S. forces out of Japan. World War II ended almost 70 years ago. Japan does not need U.S. forces based there. All the United States is doing is bullying Japan and other countries, using economic sanctions and threats to get its way.

Look what the two-faced U.S. is doing to China and you’ll get the picture. The U.S. is a “superpower” in military terms only. It is living off other countries’ achievements. Stop and look back the past 10 years at what has happened to Japan for letting the U.S. have its way. With its technology, Japan does not need aid from the U.S.
