I am from San Francisco and now live in Kanto. Yes, I am aware of the coincidences of the baseball team names and team colors. However, they end there.

The Yomiuri Giants are more like the Yankees, or the Dodgers recently. They have arrogant owners and "buy" their championships. The San Francisco Giants do it the old-fashioned way — humble, professional building through their farm system.

It was great therapy for me to see San Francisco win in 2010. Like many in my hometown, I thought a World Series championship would never happen in my lifetime. I relish the characters of that team and the current team. As for the Yomiuri Giants — who cares? They buy their way in, so no surprise if they win.
