A 30-year-old assistant at the Numazu branch of the Shizuoka District Public Prosecutor's Office has admitted leaking information about a sex crime investigation to her 37-year-old boyfriend, who has links to the yakuza, it was learned Thursday.

A police raid of the couple's home, as well as her parents' home, turned up a copy of an arrest warrant and other investigative documents, sources said.

The pair, who have been living together for about five years, admitted wrongdoing. The boyfriend had asked the woman to leak the information, they said.

She is suspected of leaking investigative information obtained through her work to her boyfriend. It's against the law for public servants to leak government information.

Police seized the woman's cellphone and computer.

The woman, who has also worked at other branches of the Shizuoka District Public Prosecutor's Office, was responsible for receiving and creating documents.

The boyfriend, meanwhile, allegedly is acquainted with someone convicted of running a "deliheru" ring dispatching girls under 18 to provide sex. In the course of that probe, police learned about the boyfriend's ties to the prosecution assistant.
